Thermal-magnetic circuit breaker
In thermal-magnetic circuit breakers and automatic circuit breakers, protection is provided by a combination of bimetal and solenoid coil. The devices thus provide real galvanic isolation. The bimetal protects with a time delay in case of overload. The solenoid coil responds to high overload and short-circuit currents and switches off the faulty circuit within a few milliseconds.
