The ESX10-T device expands the "electronic overcurrent protection" product group for DC 24 V applications.
With a width of just 12.5 mm, it selectively protects all DC 24 V load circuits. This is achieved by a combination of active electronic current limiting in the event of a short circuit and an overload cut-out from 1.1 x IN.

The ESX10-T can be snapped directly onto the top-hat rail and therefore offers quick and flexible installation for device groups with several circuits.
DC 24 V switched-mode power supplies are frequently used in automation technology. However, in the event of an overload, they reduce the output voltage that is intended to supply all connected loads. If a fault occurs in a single load in the system, the voltage in all other load circuits also drops. This often results not only in an undefined fault condition, but also in the machine or system coming to a standstill.

This is precisely where the ESX10-T intervenes by reacting faster than the switching power supply to the overload condition. The maximum possible overcurrent is always limited to 1.3...1.8 times the selected rated current (see Table 1). This makes it possible to switch on capacitive loads up to 75,000 μF, but only switch off in the event of an overload or short circuit. The rated current is available in fixed values from 0.5 A...12 A and adjustable, e.g. [2 A/4 A/6 A], for adaptation to the load conditions.

Operating and error states are indicated by a multi-coloured LED, an integrated short-circuit-proof status output or individual or group alarms. Remote operation is possible via a remote reset signal or a remote ON/OFF control signal. The manual ON/OFF switch directly on the device allows targeted commissioning of individual load circuits. As soon as the ESX10-T detects an overload or short circuit in its load circuit, it blocks the load output transistor and thus interrupts the current flow in the faulty circuit. Once the fault has been rectified, the load output of the ESX10-T is reactivated by an electronic reset signal or manually by pressing the ON/OFF switch directly on the device.
